another question how to add a child to unmarried m

I am trying to add a child to its unmarried mother but the only option I get is add siblings or add partner anyone know how to add child thanks |

You add a partner and put 'Unknown'. Then you can add the child! nell |

You can't without adding a partner first. I have a couple of these in my tree and everytime I import my GEDCOM, it adds the father as UNKNOWN UNKNOWN. Sam x |

I don't think its to do with not being openminded. It's probably more to do with ensuring you don't leave out a father when you DO know who he is, by mistake. And you never know, you might one day be able to replace Unknown Unknown with a real name! nell |
