what does cause of death, Paralysis not certified

Probably a stroke. Not certified means that the dead person was not seen by a doctor before dying. If a doctor has attended the person, it will say 'certified 10 days' or whatever, meaning that the doctor has been aware of the patient's ill health for that length of time. 'General paralysis' is used to mean general paralysis of the insane, a euphemism for syphilis. nell |

Ladies are just as likely to get strokes as men! I put in the bit about general paralysis because it is a question that crops up from time to time and someone who has it on a cert may have read Paralysis in your thread title. nell |
