I have found the original entry of my birth but at the side of GRO there is an S, does anyone know what this means?

Hi Louise Can't answer your question I'm afraid - not much good with adoptions, I haven't had any in my tree so far. I think if you type 'adoption' in the search box at the top of the tips board page, you should find some very good threads that might be able to help - I do know there are some very knowledgeable people on here.
