can anyone tell what info you can actually get on a person in a marrige record(ex, can u get d.o.b. or address), if you have any sort of access could you contact me. thanks.

Louise You should contact the social services department in the area where you were adopted. They will be able to advise you and help you in your search. Good luck. Lynne

hi louise any adoptee can apply for there adoption file,can take quiet a while to come through though about 12 weeks you will be assigned a social worker and be offered counciling if the adoption was after a certain date hope this helps a little let us know how you get on angie x

Hi Louise, As your adoption was pre 1975 you would need counselling before you would be allowed to view your records. If it is a copy of your original birth cert you were after, in order to get your full birth details, you should be able to order this online, however, in adoption cases a lot of times fathers details are not entered on the cert, unless they were present with the birth mother when the birth was registered.
