I emailed GR yesterday with a couple of concerns - firstly I only have five pages of hot matches and they all start with A. This is apparently because they only give me 100 at a time - every 14 days they are updated and the next lot will have the next 100 hot matched names. My second problem is that I am being inundated with 'hot match requests' mostly for people that do not match my tree...GR's response - 'thanks for the feed back' Peter |

If that's the case, this will encourage all of us to remove DoB from all our Smiths, Browns, Jones etc! When does it update? Wednesday? |

I've been a bit disapppointed with the hot match facility so far. Despite having manually and lovingly entered over 300 people into my tree over 5 days, taking care to include country of birth as well as town and county and accurate years of birth, I have ONE hot match. Someone born with the same name as me in the same year. How useful! Since adding my information, I've had four contact messages, two of whom turned out to be connected and they have my ancestor in their tree as I have theirs. I suspect that maybe this hot match facility means you have to be a little too specific in order to get any results and I shall be sticking to the tried and trusted method of name search! |
