I am tracking an elusive JONES family and may have found a Mary A, 17 shown as an inmate at a refuge in Millbrook Southampton........ What sort of place would that be? It doesn't seem to be very big. |

they are all un married young-ish women............... Might be ...erm...erm... dare i say pregnant? None of the have an occupation either .... She wasn't disabled in anyway in the 1851 was she? |

Home for unmarried mothers crossed my mind too! ....... Although in that context, I did wonder if the matron's occupation was something more sinister..... Don't know of any disability. |
