I have never seen photo's of the paternal side of my family pre 1960 but I have this mental picture of my gr grandfathers brother who I have just found born c1854. It isn't a very favourable picture physically or character wise, in fact he gives me the creeps. He might have been the nicest person going but as I have never met any of his descendants!!! Does anyone else ever have these feelings?

I get that feeling quite often when looking at old photos. Most of my family born 1800-1850 all have this very sinister look about them lol

My g grandfather was known as Black Jack due to his black hair. His other brother was so dirty when he died that they bathed him before fetching the local doctor.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I picture his brother as having jet black greasy hair, not from Brylcream with creepy eyes. I don't know why but I feel as though he was a drunk and a wife beater.

Thats why I said it sounds daft. None of my family have creepy eyes and I haven't seen any photo's pre 1960. They feel as though they are boring into my back and I get this really heavy feeling, its really weird.
