My GGrandfather fought in World War One. He didn't die, and I don't think he was injured. How do I find out which regiment he was in, and where he fought? He lived in Yorkshire at the time. |

Step one - pray he had an uncommon name! lol Step two - look for him on the Nat Archives WW1 Campaign Medals records. If you can pick him out, this will give you his service number (unless he was an officer) Step three - Pop down to kew and look at the ''burnt records'' for WW1 servicemen and hope his service record is within the percentage which has survived. If he was an officer and DIDN'T serve in WW2 as well, then his service record should be at Kew. Merry |

I would think if he was living in Yorkshire there would be a militry museum some were in the county give them a ring that's what i did in staffordshire they found my grandad in a couple of mins and were very nice and helpfull. Gill |
