Help with marriage please.....

Right then.... I have a Charles Brough who married a woman called Hannah in the Sept quater of 1844. Just one problem, when I click into 'see other names on this page' there are 3 Hannah's on the list! How do I know which is mine?.....c...x

the easiest way is to order the cert........then you would know 100% Esta

I don't think there is really any other way, unless you knew which church they married in and could search the PR's - but presume you don't?? Nothing on the IGI Nothing on BIVRI If Hannah had been born in a really small place and the baps for the place were on the IGI and if there was only one of the three Hannah's recorded for baptism in that parish, then that would be a good indicator, but she seems to have been born in Congleton, which has several churches and most of them not on the IGI for the right time frame. So its a case of asking for the cert for Christmas!! Merry

Hi Merry, luckily we have all of the PR's on film at Congleton library, So I can check the main one's at the weekend, should find them somewhere in the ones for St Stephens, St Peters, St James and St Mary's in Astbury Thanks for having a look for me c x

Merry I've found the local BMDs invaluable lately, especially as they tell you the actual spouse. Its hit & miss unfortunately with the years done but if you strike lucky then ...!! Rach
