Clare Maiden names are on wedding certificates and birth certificates of children born to the woman concerned. nell |

Marion is probably referring to Scotish death certs! England and Wales didn't start adding a woman's maiden surname to her death certificate until 1969!! Merry |

And marriage certs (at least the English ones) don't necessarily show maiden name, only name at marriage - which if it's a widow re-marrying will be her previous married name. Her father's surname should be given, which will usually (but not always) be her maiden name. |
