Someone left a message on Genealogy(.)com.... Do you know Ruth Emily Langham? Yes I do, she was my Grandmothers sister in law. Do you know her father Alfred? Yes I do, he was my Grandad's brother (my Grandad's brother married my Nan's sister.) Do you know her sister Ellen Elizabeth? Yes I do, my Auntie (My Grandmothers daughter) who I see every week was called Ellen Elizabeth after her, Ellen died in childbirth. I left a message in February...Nothing....I emailed her....email was bounced back. I have all the BMD certificates as we could probably tell each other lots of things. Why oh why don't people who leave messages come back and check them? Linda (Frustrated in Kent)

So Agree. Why leave your tree on here if you dont want to be bothered to keep up to date with your details. I.like many others too, have excitedly emailed someone who I KNow is connected,not to get any reply. SOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrating. They will get the email even if they have let their membership lapse. Not sure how that site works but can you Google search their name and see if it comes up with an alternative e mail address, somewhere else on the net?

I used to get annoyed by this type of thing - now I just console myself by thinking that I am a TRUE genealogist/Family Historian while they are just playing at it! These time wasters are not dogged and determined! I think some people want everything handed to them on a plate but don't want to give anything back! I feel better after my mini rant! Having said this, a dear sweet old lady wrote me a letter and included photographs of my Australian ancestors. I was thrilled! So occasionally you DO get some help from genuine people. I thanked my little old lady profusely and repaid her with a letter filled with info and photos. Cheers, Lynn

Since joining gr in August I have sent messages to 2 people who I know are cousins but no reply. Question is should I send them another message to jog them along and what should I say.
