I've just come back from giving my talk on parish registers. I'm still shaking. It is much easier to say something stupid on these boards than it is in front of friends that you will meet next month! What is gratifying though, is that it's the things I've found out from GR: like Hugh Wallis batch numbers and OPCs that made the most impact, so thank you to everyone on Tips!

Brenda Well Done!! As a former Teacher I know exactly how nerve wracking it is to get up and give a lesson or presentation. Even when you are 100% confident in your subject you are still terrified you will forget to mention that vital piece of information or whatever. Be proud of yourself, you've done fine by the sound of it. Dianne xx

I'm going round, muttering 'Burial in woollen - I forgot to mention that. Or entries squeezed into unlikely places. Or to explain the change in the calendar properly. Or... or...' I'm off to have a very stiff drink and then whooppee, I can have some time off for good behaviour and go off to a Record Office on Saturday!
