Haven't quite got the hang of this message lark so have decided to write my note of thanks again. Thank you all for your advice it is really appreciated. I know that Edith died 6th February 1939 and is buried in Nelson Lancs. I also tried to find her birth year using what may be her mum's maiden name but alas no luck. I intend to send for her marriage certificate on my day off when I can ring up. I did try to order one on line but because I do not know the actual date it would not process my request.
