I have a marriage of Maud Marie Walker Kind'sN June 1909 6c 773.There are only 3 names on the page on FreeBMD, Maud's,and 2 males, Bertram Pearse Membrey and Alfred Harry Cattrell. Is there any way I can find out which one she married without sending for the marriage cert?

Only sometimes!! I did a search on Family Relatives (GRO indexes complete and fully searchable 1866-1920) for births where the surname of the child was Membrey and the mother's maiden surname Walker and then the same for Cattrell/Walker. This can only be done for 1912-1920 as before that the mother's maiden name is not on the index. In some cases this sort of search can give a good INDICATION of who the correct spouse is - all depends on the rarity of the names etc etc Trouble is in this case the results were NIL for both combinations. B****r Merry!

Thanyou Brenda, I am sure that Maud was my great grandmother's sister,Maud was known as Marie and her sister was Emily Grace ,known as Grace.Grace had a daughetr Marie. They must have been close.
