Was wondering if they had any, were archived..or whatever...my gggfather had a business....maybe there was some info or ads?? Any suggestions? |

Hi Leeanne, You need to find the library or record office in the appropriate district and then give them a ring to see if they have the newspaper on fiche or film. Some will look it up and send you a copy and I've found it doesn't cost much. Alternatively you can put the details on this site and somebody might go and look for you. And there's a sits called Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness and there are volunteers there. Good luck, Janice. |

Have you tried looking at Historical Directories. Just google Historical Directories and you will have a choice of whether to search decades or areas Elaine |

Depends what the business was, but I think this would be a tricky way to find things - most newspaper archives are on microfilm and NOT indexed, so you'd have to trawl through them looking at each issue, and there's no guarantee that there were any ads there in the first place. Have a look on a2a (google to find) to see if there are any company archives anywhere. nell |
