I find building my family tree very rewarding and interesting but there are times when I wish I would come across a rellie that did something more interesting than being a Agricultural Labourer or Shoe Maker! :( Suzanne |

I know what you mean Suzanne! But keep on looking cos you never know what's out there waiting to be discovered. I thought my great Grandfather had gone from being an Ag Lab to working on the railways for the rest of his life. But one day when I was in the records office I just happened to stumble across an Index of East Yorkshire Policemen. I thought I'd just have a quick flick through out of curiosity and blow me, there was my great Grandfathers name. The index gave me a reference number so I was able to look at his employment record. It told me the places he was posted to which explained how he came to meet my great Grandmother who lived quite a way from where I thought he was! Jeanette x |

Same here Suzanne, I've got the whole bunch as well, and most of them can't write, so you can imagine how hubby is feeling with his SUPERIOR lot - Land Surveyors and architects- hmm! I've stopped doing his side (for now) Norah |
