If you go to the Family Records Office you would not be able to find out anyone's parents, if only we could, the only way to find out is purchase a copy of the birth certificate. The only thing held at the records office is the books on birth marriage and death where you get the reference numbers to order the certificates. That is why you see so many people that have purchased the wrong certificates on the boards, they have been looking for their ancestors with the little information they have. I myself have about 8 certificates that I have wrongly purchased. £56 wasted. It is not always easy to find our ancestors. That is why this is such an expensive hobby. Good Luck with your research. Hi everyone Sorry about the delay, had given up on this!! I have a horrible feeling the ones i'm looking for are on the 'missing' census bits for London/Middlesex!! I don't have an address, it was a long shot really, I can't find them on 1861 onwards, only the children. I'm looking for Christiana HUCKS b. 1815 approx Somerset. Her husband may have been James Hucks. Their children were Sarah b. 1832, Christiana b.1831 James b. 1834 & William b.1841. Sarah was born in Battersea St Mary London, the others in Bermondsey & Rotherhithe. There is no trace of them on the Surrey census, or London census though. On 1861 census, I found Sarah had married & was living with her husband William EVANS & their children in Finsbury district. Her mother (Christiana HUCKS) was with them on the census day, but she is shown as married, so her husband must have been around somewhere. I can't find him. Any help appreciated. If you are going to the Family records office, would you be able to find Sarah's birth & confirm her parents for me, & find their marriage at all? Thanks a lot, Joan

Hi Joan I am planning to go to Family Records centre soon to look up an 1841 census. I don't mind having a try for you while I am there. On 1841 I will need an address and even for 1851 it makes it much easier if you have an exact area.. I'm not sure when I will get a chance to go up to London but I was hoping for this week. After this week I will be away for three weeks and so it may be a long wait. Let me know what you want me to do.
