Is it worth putting and advert in the paper to try to find living ascestors (if there are any). Has anyone else had any Success with this? Wendy

You could also try the free Teletext family tree pages on Channel 4. That's what started me on the trail, when I replied to a letter there.

Yes, I had great success in locating family members after having a letter published in the letters page of the local newspapers. Even if your family members do not see it, it is always possible that someone else will draw their attention to it, this is what happened in one instance for me. Jennifer

Hi, Wendy, There is a Hull Daily Mail. Try website www(.)thisisshull(.)co(.)uk. I haven't looked at this - got the address from Google then 'Hull+newspaper' Hope this is helpful Anne

Hi Wendy The Hull Daily Mail also does a supplement called FlAshback. It looks at things in the area from years ago. If you would like me to look up anything in the Hull phone book, just send me a message. Jeanette x
