I think you get references to it in novels by such folks as Dickens - usually written to indicate the pronunciation... e.g. 'I'm 'ungry... I needs me vittles...' Christine [Can't think which corner of my brain that was stored in!] |

In the 1861 census of Lancashire it gives my relations job as Victualler, Wondered if anyone could enlighten me please Thanks katrina |
