For the other couple, on the 1881 census their eldest child is aged 17. So suggesting a marriage about 1863ish. Another time period poorly covered by FreeBMD!! Don't forget, Charlotte might not be the mother of all/any of the children, so have looked at the 1871 census: Here they are - So Charlotte was married to james by 1871.... Charles Smith abt 1846 Farnham, Surrey, England Lodger Kingston on Thames Surrey Jane Smith abt 1844 Kingston, Surrey, England Wife Kingston on Thames Surrey Charlotte Weal abt 1845 Lewksbury, Gloucestershire, England Wife Kingston on Thames Surrey Elizabeth Weal abt 1870 Kingston, Surrey, England Wife Kingston on Thames Surrey James Weal abt 1838 Lroad, Gloucestershire, England Head Kingston on Thames Surrey James Weal abt 1864 Kingston, Surrey, England Son Kingston on Thames Surrey Mary J Weal abt 1867 Kingston, Surrey, England Daughter Kingston on Thames Surrey Charlotte's place of birth is Tewkesbury and James is Stroud on the original census page. For either of these marriages, it might be worth getting a birth cert for one of the children, so you know what female surname you are looking for. Merry

For William Cook and Hannah, I see from the IGI and the 1861 census that their first-born child is William George b abt 1845/46 and that William's name was William Charles, Can't find a marriage on FreeBMD, or the IGI for Buckinghamshire. Have you searched 1837online at all? 1845 Q3 and Q4 are poorly covered on FreeBMD - see their coverage charts for more info. (Go to Main Page, Information, Statistics, Coverage Charts) Merry
