Many Peggys were registered Margaret.... but not all. Some were given the name Peggy as their proper name.

I have today heard from a relative that I wrote to asking about information in relation to my family, who unfortunatley do not want to talk about the family, which I can quite understand, but they have kindly sent me photos of my Great Great Grandparents and their descendants, which does fit with everything I have. However, one of the photos shows my Great Great Grandmother holding a baby and the back of the photo it says Peggy. Now the problem I have is that the only child that this family had their child was called Margaret. Can anyone confirm that maybe a nickname of Margaret is Peggy? Any comments much appreciated Kind regards Sue
