Does anyone know of any scottish burial sites. I have searched in vain for my gtx3 grandfather/mother in vain. Must be buried somewhere. Think they died before registration started in Scotland 1855. Thanks Hilary x

Some sites do have lists for cemeteries but depends on the area. For example in Glasgow there is a site for the Southern Necropolis which lists names www.southernnecropolis(.)com However I've just noticed that a death certificate I have for Edinburgh district in 1856 has an extra column which gives the name of the burial ground. Not on any of the ones I have for later years. I'm not sure if this was around for a period of time or just that year - but worth a go. Karen

Hi Not sure what you mean - but the burial ground on the death cert I have is the Newington Necropolis. Do you have any idea of the area in Scotland your lot were from? I found one of mine by going through the burial records. Karen
