Any ideas on how I can find what happened to this lady;; Last found her in 1901 cencus: Florence Ellen Finn ,40,Nurse B. India. Address: Western Hospital, Seagrave Rd. fulham St London. I seem to keep going round in circles on this one...does anyone know if there is a hospital still there or not...and where would the old records for staff be found. I live in Australia and it's a bit difficult knowing where to start...Thanks Jackie

Jackie This hospital is listed on the excellent workhouses website, and there's even a few pictures of the buildings. Apparently it closed in 1979 and has now been demolished. This link should take you to the right page: http://users.ox.ac.uk/~peter/workhouse/MAB-WFever/MAB-WFever.shtml The site also lists what records are available and where they're located: London Metropolitan Archives, 40 Northampton Road, London EC1R OHB. Holdings include: Administrative records (1872-1948), General (1872-1948), Admissions & Discharges (1897-1906). Charing Cross Hospital. Holdings include: Administrative records (1877-1951); Nursing (1877-1951); Clinical & Patients (1885-6); etc. Hammersmith and Fulham Archives and Local History Centre, 191 Talgarth Road, London W6 8BJ. Holdings include: Administrative (1873-1979); General (1877-1968); etc. Cheers, Richard
