Hello, I've just chatted to my uncle who came up with a previously unmentioned gem. My great grandfather was in the Merchant Navy and is buried in Alexandria, but not as a result of the war (WWII), apparently. On his daughter's marriage certificate, his occupation is given as store-keeper. Is this a Merchant Navy 'job'? How on earth can I find a death certificate? Please help, Sharon |

Funny how these rellies suddenly remember something like that!! Hubby's relly was a ''Stores-keeper'' on a merchant vessel. You could try the overseas records on 1837online. Did your uncle have an idea of date?? Merry |

You're lucky to get half-right names in my family, let alone dates! :-) I know he's dead by or in 1941. That's as good as it gets. Sharon |
