Hi Heather, Yes I realize that Free BMD is not complete. Just had a bit of luck and at last found marriage of Job Fry to Emma Hunt, married 1877 in Kensington on Ancestry after searching through all the Fry names within a 10 year range... Job was not spelllt Job but Joh... so keeping fingers crossed it is him. Also found 1861 census for Emma Hunt, so now hoping I can use this line to find the children and perhaps another marriage. Job Fry was a blacksmith by trade. Looking up the name 'Job Fry' on google is hardwork, only brings up silly sites, like, had a good job Fry? Thank you once again for all help you have given me. You will appreciate that the freebmd is not complete and familyrelatives site would be best for looking for these dates. Emma may have reverted to her maiden name when/if she married? What job did Job (!) have? Kensington was posh even then or were they servants? In which case perhaps they moved back to Bucks if Job died? |

Hi Heather, Thank you for your quick response. Yes I have also searched marriages for Emma and came up with exactly the same, although I did not have the 1885 marriage so will have another try on the Census. I have just searched 1901 for Edwin, no luck, but a 'maybe' for Henry Fry. So will try now again for Emma under the names you provided me. Thank you so much for you help. Elizabeth |

Hi, this is a possible on BMD for Emma - you could try looking for her and the kids under either of the grooms surnames? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- APPS William Kensington 1a 3 Boynton John Edward Kensington 1a 3 FRY Emma Kensington 1a 3 HADAWAY Sarah Elizabeth Kensington 1a 3 |

Yes it should be, though I have still got ones I cant trace. The thought is, if the mum remarried prior to the 1891 would the kids still be living with her under the new husbands name? Have you checked for her remarrying? |

I am searching for the Fry family who on 1881 census were living in Wornington Gdns, Kensington, London. The names were Job Fry, Head, Emma wife, Henry son, Edwin son, and Henry brother of Job Fry. Job Fry was born c.1851 Somerset, his wife emma, 1852 Ludgershall, Buckinghamshire, Edwin 1880 Kensington, Middlesex, and Henry 1878, Kensington, Middlesex. I have found Henry Fry, brother, on the 1891, but by then he is married and living elsewhere. 1881 Job Fry died. I have searched high and low on the 1891 census for the sons to no available, just putting in Fry, or just christian names, or just dates of birth and whereborn. I can not find them anywhere. Emma probably has remarried by 1891. I searched the 1881 census for the neighbours of the Fry Family, searching for them on 1891, but 90% can not be found, and when found not living in Wornington Gdns any more.. I have goggled Wornington Gardens, but not found the answer either. Have searched BMD and not found the answer either. My question is the 1891 Census is it completely transcribed on ancestry? Any thoughts would be very welcome. Thank you. Elizabeth |
