After recently trying to find a pub called the 'Who'd Have Thought It' which my husbands ancestors ran in Bristol and coming up a blank, I decided to write to the Bristol Evening Post who have a special section on Bristol of old. They printed my letter today and tonight I had a reply from a lovely lady who told me that her husband was related to these people. She told me that it was actually an off licence, so no wonder I couldn't find a pub by that name. So I now have an answer to a mystery and some more names to add to the tree. If all else fails Contact the Local Newspaper. |

Excellent thought. A number of local papers run these sorts of articles - thanks for the update & info. Christine |
