Thanks Dea, Yes, I had missed it. I was trying to take a quick, eager look at the same time as cooking tea and seeing to useless husband who had jammed up the printer and wanted me to sort it out! Now I am sitting down with a cuppa and I'll have a look for some rellies!! Janice

Janice, The whole site is BEAUTIFULLY indexed. The MI's are as well. - Once you have found from the name index, the reference number for the inscription which is listed at the side, e.g. C17, you then go into the memorial index and click on C from the alphabetical index - it then takes you to the C list and you just have to go down to No. 17. It REALLY is good - you probably hadn't noticed the other index - There is no need to trawl the graveyard. Dea x

The MIs aren't indexed in surname but in area of churchyard (see map) therefore you have to trawl the lot to find the person you are looking for. Fantastic resource though. Thanks alot for that. Janice

Dea, just gone onto the site, wonderful. I was expecting to find my g/g/grandfather JOSHUA HEWITT and his son JOSHUA jnr who both died in STOCKPORT in 1874 and 1875, but no luck. They were both from LPOOL but were in the building trade and moved around where the work was. Maybe they were buried in the local cemetary, but its still a good site. TED

Just found a WONDERFUL website for those who have relatives buried in Stockport, Cheshire. It is www.norburypc.org.uk and gives details of thousands of people buried in the graveyard of St. Thomas Church, Hazel Grove, Stockport from 1834 onwards. NOT ONLY does it give the details, but ALSO most of the inscriptions. - LOTS of names of other members of the families of the people buried there. Hope this helps someone - It's fascinating. Dea
