lol Merry - I'll be sure to steer clear of that. Thanks for the advice :) When I get home, I'll write up some drafts and see if I can get anything that makes sense. |

If you don't what to sound too clever, ask if they are perhaps the children of X or whatever, even if you absolutely know they are!!! Don't sound as if you know too much (don't say, ''I have your ancestry going back to 1503'!!! lol). You have nothing to lose! Go for it!! Merry |

Why not keep it simple, just say that you are doing family research; that you have found what appears to be a link; and set out brief details of how the two of you come from a common ancestor; that you have information on other relatives which you would be willing to share. Then leave it to them if they want to follow it up. |

tracy hi, dont be nervous love, write to em first, that is if you have their address, they wont bite and they might be interested. If they arent then its their misfortune. ive just found two cousins from my uncle ALFRED and GLADYS and they just told me to xxxx off, they werent interested. Gee am I worried. The family always told me ALFRED was not a nice man and it seems to have rubbed off on his sons. TED. |

Someone on this board kindly went out of their way for me and found me some living relatives in Australia. They are not close relations, but I would like to make contact. I'm very nervous about this. Any suggestions? |
