Unfortunately i have no idea what his name was before they changed it to Walters. my nan thinks it was something like Balkitt (no idea of spelling) or Bouquet. It was my grandads grandad and my grandad is now dead so i am unable to question him on this. I know the name was changed by 1924 as this is when my g grandad got married and he was then Walters. He was born as something else otherwise i could hazzard a guess from his birth cert, so im looking somewhere in between 1896 when he was born to 1924 when he married. Flaming family!!! |

Robyne, hi. One of my uncles joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1914 and went over to France in 1916. During the that time he punched officers on 3 seperate occasions and went AWOL on 5 different times, AND ALL HE GOT FOR HIS TROUBLES was loss of pay, NOTHING ELSE. i sent off for his records to OTTOWA, CANADA, and for the equivilent of £6.00 and that included postage I got back 18 pages of his history, bother military and medical records. Another thing was that he must have been a bit of a lingerer as he spent a LOT of time in hospital with sore throats and god knows what else. TED. |

Hi. Apparently my gg grandad was a soldier and went AWOL after apparently punching a senior office. He then joined the Foreign Legion with a different name, and i was wondering if there was somewhere that may have reported him going missing or any soldier recruitment lists. Im looking at early 1900's i believe. |
