It should be William's occupation, so its probably weaver or something like it. Or at least, it would be on an English marriage cert. What is the heading of the column its written in? nell

hi karen it reads as follows andrew bennett morgan .m jane marshall.daughter of the late william marshall. now this is the bit i dont understand it looks like weavesthire thats next to williams name now is it aplace or something else.the place they came from was midlothian.edinburgh thank you for any help you can give.joyce
