Been looking for the death of my Great Grandad Henry Dipple, on my Grandads marriage certificate he is down as Harry George Dipple Carpenter (1915) and on my Grandad's brothers marriage certificate he is down as Henry Dipple (deceased) (1923). Have searched 1837 from 1915 to 1923 but he's not there. If he died abroad how would I find him? MAggie |

Sounds awful but perhaps he wasn't deceased and had just gone away? When in 1923 was the marriage and have you checked under variations? Pippa |

Hi Pippa, Marriage was in February 1923, and yes I have checked all names such as Harry and George, maybe your right he had'nt died but they had'nt seen him for a long time so they presumed he had!! He was born in 1955 so he could possibly live until he was 100, so maybe I will have to check deaths up until 1955 :-(( Maggie |

Sorry Kath, Typing error, they married in 1915 not 13, but that is quite interesting although that would make him born in 1846 not 1855. Will keep a note of that one - you never know! Maggie |

Hi Maggie, I've had ages on death certificates which are out by quite a lot, and it is also possible that although it didn't say deceased on the first son's marriage certificate, it was just omitted because no one thought to say. Kath. x |

do you have an area to work with ie, where was he born, where did the marriage take place, have you found him on any census ie 1901? have been having a look about but there are too many variations of harry, henry, george in various years and locations to be sure to get the right one, any extra info might pin him down. |

Hi Ayshea, Henry Dipple was born 27th December 1855 a t 18 Scott Street, Bethnall Green his birth certificate says just Henry Dipple, his Father James Dipple and Mother Sarah Rebecca Whayling. He married Harriet Henrietta Barton on 24th December 1876. I have him on the 1861/1871/1881/1891 Census then his wife dies 28th May 1895 and he marries Fanny Jane Randall (Widow) on 25th December 1898 in Walthamstow, he has put his name as Henry George Dipple on this marriage certificate, then I lose him, he is not on the 1901 census but his children including my Grandad are in the workhouse also the children of his second wife, his second wife Fanny is living with her brother Richard Richards in the 1901 census. But where is HENRY Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Maggie |

maybe theres a chance he could be on a fishing vessel at that time, i eventually found relatives i thought i lost, (along with one i found in an asylum!). if it doesnt state that fanny was a widow on the 1901 census, that could be the answer, will have a look about for you, see if i can find him. Is he living with any of his children? or do you already have thier details at that time? |
