Good websites for social history anyone?

I like to be able to try and imagine what like was like for our ancestors and bring things to life a bit more. Has anyone come across any websites which detail things like the clothes people wore and what they typically ate in various eras? Thanks Sharon

You can find lots of info on specific topics by googling. Your local library should have some books on social history too. nell
