Hi Wendy If I'd known you were coming over, I'd have come with you! lol I don't live that far from Sculcoates, and apparently my maternal great Grandmother is buried in that graveyard. But I haven't done much research on my Mum's side yet. It seems Finsbury Street was just off Faountain Road. It's not there now but there has been alot of change round there. If you want to find out where your ancestor is buried you need to give Hull crematorium a ring. They will do a search for you, or you can make an appointment to go and search their records yourself. But that would depend if it was a burial or cremation - I'm guessing a burial! Records for cremation are not available for the public to search (but if you are there they will give you a map of the crem grounds to show you where the ashes were scattered.) They can then arrange to have somebody meet you there and show you where the plot is. The phone number is 01482 614976. They are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. Hope you didn't have to travel very far! Jeanette x |

Hi ive got relatives from an old part of hull called sculcoates. Ive been there today to look around the old cemetry, but it was just an overgrown field and only had a few remaining headstones. I think i was in the right place! Does anyone know anything about Sculcoates? loking for a finsbury street |
