Janet - Have foundyour Henry Beney inthe 1861 census on Ancestry. The name is misspelled (or mistranslated) as Beeney. The only residents of the address in Wouldham are Thomas 65 and Eliza 57. Thomas is recorded as a labourer. |

Malling is the reg district in the first birth info I gave you, a year after the baptism you found. Beney does not seem to be a very common name - you could check if there were two Henry Edward Beneys born a year apart in Kent on the 1861 census. nell |

This is the nearest I can find: Name: Beney, Henry Edward Record Type: Births Quarter: March Year: 1851 District: Malling County: Kent Volume: 5 Page: 408 If you got his baptism record from the IGI, it could be wrong. Alternatively, its possible that the parents had a baby baptised in 1850 which died and then named their next baby after the first, which happened quite a lot. nell |

I checked 1850 for you on 1837online, your chap isn't there. Do you have any census info on him? I checked that year because you have his baptism, although it does not mean he was born that year Sam |

Did you not find him at all, or did you not find the relevant numbers in order to get a certificate? Kaye x |

Freebmd is not complete. If you haven't found his birth, it means it isn't transcribed yet, so you will have to look in the GRO birth indexes. nell |

I read an earlier thread about freebmd and thought I would have a look I type in HENRY EDWARD BENEY (STROOD1884-MARCH1923) As he's baptism was in 1850 But the results didnt give me any information re to order a birth certificate. Any help much appreciated. Jennie |
