Thank again Lady Liberty! I'd just found this one as well and reckon it could well be another of my missing O'Neils. Looks like this family were regulars at the St Joseph's Industrial Schools. Cheers. Louise |

Brill! That certainly looks like one of them and ties in with the girls being at St Joseph's Girls School. I think that the older boys might have gone into the forces for the 1901 as this is a branch of my tree with lots of service men but that still leaves David who would only have been 12 years old in 1901. Thanks again. Louise |

Henry and Mary were together in 1891 with daughters Ada and Elizabeth and son, David. The elder boys were with them in 1881 but are also missing in 1891. I'm wondering if they had a habit of sending the boys away as they all lived on after 1901 but who knows where! Not me!!! Thanks for your interest and help. |

Can't see any of them under O'Neil(l) or Neil(l) with Manchester as a birthplace, but perhaps they put the district of Manchester that they were born in instead? Kate. |

If anyone fancies a challenge, I’m in need of some help in searching for some lost ancestors on the 1901 census. I’m missing Henry O’Neil (sometimes O’Neill) born c.1850 and last seen in Manchester in 1891 working as a brush maker. Also missing are: Wife Mary, born c. 1851 in Manchester Son Henry, born 1871 in Manchester Son Richard, born 1878 in Salford / Manchester Son David, born 1889 in Manchester Two daughters have been found as in a school (St Joseph’s) so maybe the parents died but I know that David didn’t as he went on to serve in WW1! Any help much appreciated. Louise |
