they are areas of Derby Town Center next to each other, the churches would have been less than a half a mile apart, St Alkmunds was knocked down in the early 70s for the Ring Road, St Alkmunds was North of the Market Place and St Peters South

The Address Nell has for St Alkmunds Church, Kedlaston Road, is a new fangled Happy Clappy, Christian Church, glass and steel building, that has nothing to do with the original St Alkmunds Church, which stood at a right angle to St Marys catholic church, which is now St Alkmunds way, near to Radio Derby, there is a walk way across St Alkmunds way along side King Street and on it is a stone telling you, you are on the site of St Alkmunds Church. i look through the parish records of this church most weeks at the Derby Local Studies Library, if you go on to the picturethepast wesite there are several pictures of st alkmunds church being demolished.
