If you give me the details I'll check 1837 if you like, it's probably because the writing is hard to read, I could send you the page and maybe you could get the opinions of a few members Sam

Chloe, you could try 1837online to see if you could read the page number. And I think they may send you the cert if you can give some way of identifying the person...maybe street or next of kin. ...they just don't want to send the wrong one, I think, rather than not being able to find it. Good luck. Joan

I had the same problem the other day with my great nephew. He died in 1904 age 3 & I tried to order his death certificate. The page no on free Bmd was 29 & I couldn't read the entry on the 1837 online. I sent them an email to tell them & they said it is definatly 29. The woman who checked this said to me to get back to GRO & tell them that it is the right entry. I did get the impression that whoever at GROsupposed to have done the certificate, had a bad day & either missed the entry or couldn't be bothered to check or find it, like I said may be they had a very bad day. Try & order it again & may be someone else at GRO may find it. Cherylx I tried to look for you but it seems that 1837 are having problems with their website tonight, I try again later

Viewed the page on FreeBMD, but the image is poor. Looked at 1837online instead: I think the page number is 186 Volume number for Lambeth was ''4'' at that date. Happy Hunting Merry
