Unfortunately I don't know where the accident occured. I was told my great grandad (Aleksander Krilovs) was buried at sea, but I don't know is this is correct. Spending hours on search engines, I came across the KUNGSHOLM, a liner that made its maiden voyage in 1928. There was an explosion in the engine room and 3 men were killed. I may be totally wrong, but I had a feeling this could be 'the one'. The accident happened in the late 1920s, so the dates tie in. Thankyou for the website, I'll look at it tonight.

Hi Rebekah I live in Sweden and was recently at the excellent Naval Museum in Karlskrona in the far south of the country - this is the equivalent of Portsmouth I suppose. My great grandfather was a naval captain in Sweden, he died at sea in an accident in the late 1920's. I know his name and his wife and sons names, but not address or DOB. Are there any records I could access regarding the tragedy?
