Hi, it looks like another member of your tribe is/was a mormon and has added your chap to be baptised into 'the faith'.

The IGI records contain the Mormon church baptism, sealing and endowments. These are only of use to Mormons. The IGI did not start out as an index for genealogists and it is only by the goodwill of the LDS church that they have been made available. For the general searcher the thing to remember is that the IGI is simply an index. When you have found what you think is a family record you go down and click on the batch number. The batch number begins with a code. C,Kor J are taken from baptismal registers, M or E are from a marriage register and P are from printed copy. All numerical codes and those beginning with A or F are church (Mormon) submissions and should be treated with some caution, mainly because of the early methods of indexing. On the family search page you should always go to the source link. It will take you to another screen and tell you the source of the entry. I am not an authority on the subject but have found my way around the program by trial and error. A tip, if you know where your ancestor was born do a google search for IGI Batch numbers for that place and you will get pages of batch and dates and can browse through them at your leisure. Hope this helps. Muriel
