I got it with FTM2005, and in answer to what is does I would say not a lot, yes it enables you to view the CD's but I found they weren't worth looking at.

Hi Dea I've got Ancestry View 2.0 - it came with Family Tree Maker and it enables you to view the data CDs that come with it (eg census and parish register discs). I hope this helps, Mandy :)

Looks like it is a programme that you have downloaded, maybe accidentally. I would suggest deleting it just in case. Lynne

I have a new icon on my desk-top titled Ancestry View 2.0 . When I open it it looks as though it could be quite good for viewing Ancestry images - lots of tools etc. When I try and use it it tells me Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. I don't know where it came from or how long it has been there and I don't seem to be able to use it. Does anyone know anything about this and perhaps how I could get it to work? Thanks, Dea
