Oh! now that makes sense, that would be something i would do! these must be my rellies then. it does say in the later image of 11th aug, that the birth had been previously registered on the 7th aug, i thought there would be a mystery here (like an adoption) just my family being daft as usual, thanks Nell, i'm gonna take a break as i feel a bit daft myself now MOE! |

Moe I'm sure they are, I am just trying to work out why it might have been registered twice! If there were different informants, one might not have known the other had done this. I don't know how it works in Scotland, but in England you could inform about a birth in one registration district and they would send the details to the district in which the event occurred. I wondered if maybe this happened here but the birth was somehow registered twice. nell |

I am doing a search on scotlands people for MICHEAL NOLAN born around 1871, i have found about 5 and was searching each one at 5 units a search, i came across these; MICHAEL NOLAN born July 29th 1869 father Michael mother Mary ann, central district of Glasgow. GROS DATA 644/01 1611(looks promising) Checked the next one, MICHAEL NOLAN born July 29th 1869 father Michael mother Mary ann,Hutchesontown glasgow. GROS DATA 644/10 1466 on this one it has were the registrar signs. 1869 7th aug at Glasgow aug 11th transcribed at glasgow so it seems he was regisered twice, there are different names above him on both the images, they are the same person the parents have the same details on both, Which should i take notice of if i want to order? ..MOE! |
