Tips on where to search please I have a tree back to 1810ish but having difficulty pre 1837. I am also on a tight budget. |

Hi Iain. Pre-1837 means parish records, whether you like them or not. If you are on a tight budget, like me, then going gallavanting off round the country isn't the best idea. I have found that since a lot of parish records have been preserved on microfilm, the cheapest option is to check out the Family History Library Catalog on FamilySearch.org and see if they have something you want, then get your local Family History centre to order it in for you. You can then go there and use their readers to look at the information. It's a few quid each time. Good luck, Sharon |

I went on line and joined (for free) my Local Family History Group. They hold meetings every month and sell church indexes really cheap. Loads of help by every body. Mine has a mailing list also, for every body to give advice and try and help with brick walls. Sue xx |
