It doesn't give any middle name for Tabitha on 1837online. Funnily enough if you search on Robert Hampson a page comes up and says there is no match for that criteria, but if you just search on Hampson, Robert is there. Kath. x

Thats because, of the two brides and two grooms that should be recorded for the particular page number, this amount has been transcribed so far: Marriages Sep 1854 Barrow Ellen Ormskirk 8b 855 Hampson Robert Ormskirk 8b 855 Hesketh Tabitha Ormskirk 8b 855 So as yet two brides and one groom have been transcribed. Robert will have married either Ellen or Tabitha. To determine who he married you would either buy the cert, or look at the next census to see who Robert is with. Obviously you would have to know you were looking at the right Robert!! FreeBMD is quite patchy in the 1850's so there may well be other Robert Hampson marriages that don't yet show up..... Freebmd have only transcribed 3 of the people with the marriage ref Ormskirk 8b 855 Ellen Barrow Robert Hampson Tabitha Hesketh So if you are sure Robert's wife was Ellen it looks like Tabitha's husband hasn't yet been transcribed - as the indexes are arranged in alphabet order not by page references this is quite possible.

Not sure what you mean. There is this marriage on Ancestry civil reg: Hampson, Robert 1854 Hesketh, Tabitha 1854 September Marriages Ormskirk Lancashire Volume: 8b Page: 855 Where are you putting in Ellen and what surname are you using? nell

I don't know where you are, but have you tried your areas bmd such as staffordshirebmd, lancashirebmd. If you try on this it should give you the correct full names and church/ registery office they where married in? Regards - Louise

Not sure where you checked, but on 1837online in that quarter there is:- Tabitha Hesketh, Ormskirk, 8b, 855 and Francis Ellen Hesketh, W. Derby, 8b, 677 Kath. x

Hi Found a marriage for Robert Hampson sept qtr 1854 wife Tabitha Hesketh but if i try [Ellen] the same marriage comes up. As on census his wife is Ellen. Do you think it could be her second name ? Regards June [Update]found]
