Hi Tracy/Trudi She is driving me daft it took me two years to find her marriage certificate and death certificate!!!!!! Her father Edwin is listed as a Coal Miner which ties in both with Nottingham/Derbyshire and Staffordshire. On her marriage certificate dated 1905 her address was 5 Newmarket Road Nottingham but I've checked the 1901 Census and she wasn't living there then. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Cheryl

Hi Yes I am sure its the same family they lived in Nottingham in both 1891 and 1901 the head of house Edwin was a Coal Miner on both Census's. Not sure of Mary's DOB as I cannot find a Birth Ceritifcate for her, but when she married my Grandfather in 1905 she was 24 and when she died in 1928 she was 47 years making her DOB 1881 but not sure of the month sorry. Have been looking for Lily Atkins on 1881 with father Edwin with no luck just in case Mary wasn't born at the time of the Census. I have looked for Edwin on 1881 as a single man but no luck. Sorry but I have no more info anything you could turn up would be gratefully received. Regards Cheryl

Cheryl/Joan I know that the Notts/Staffs borders 'move' quite a bit, they still do to this day - my aunt hasn't moved house in 30 odd years, but has lived in Notts, Staffs and Derbyshire?? Might be worth finding an old map with county 'borders' on it for the period. Trudy
