where would i find a death when i do not know wher

Please can anyone help my gt grandfather was Arthur George Blott he was born brigstock northants in 1875 he was married to Mable Woods but she went off with someone else and Arthur george vanished my father was born in 1920 and he was out of northamptonshire by then and no one knows what became of him of course he is now dead but how can i find out if there was another part to the family or where he died ???? thanks for any advice lynn

1 Blott Arthur J 56 Brixworth.3b 119 Death 3 1914 2 Blott Arthur E 55 Islington.1b 298 Death 4 1915 3 Blott Arthur W Middlesbrough.9d 637 Death 3 1918 4 Blott Arthur 64 North Bierley.9b 70 Death 4 1915 5 Blott Arthur 62 St Neots.3b 356 Death 4 1916 6 Blott Arthur William St Olave.1d 77 Death 2 1908 these are the Arthur Blott deaths 1900 to 1920 so he didn't die then, that's one possible less Helen

You can use the age at the time of death as a guide - though these can be out by a few years. You can then research the address on the death cert by seeing how long he lived there (electoral roll) and if there were any other adults living with him. nell

Lynn - if you can get to a records office etc. that has the National Probate Calendar you could search through that to see if there is an entry for him (there would be if he left a will and probate was granted on it or if administration of his estate was granted without a will). If you find an entry it should tell you when and where he died and who the executors of his will were or who administered his estate. Also the value of his estate. Kate.
