Blinky relatives, why do I bother!

Very frustrated. I just want to tie up some loose ends. Can't find two brothers. Don't know what to do. My gt grandmother EMMA BROAD had 4 sisters and 3 brothers. I know what the sisters did and where they were up to 1901 and a bit beyond. I know what one of the brothers did right up to his death in 1937. BUT George b. 1856 and James b. 1859 are a mystery. I have them at home in Mawgan, Cornwall in 1871. On 1881 George is working as a gardener in Cowbridge, Glamorgan, Wales. No sign of James and after that no sighting of either. I know two of the sisters changed their names a bit and wondered if George & James did the same, but can't find their blinky birth indexes to see if they had additional Christian names. Can't find a blinky marriage or a blinky death. I know from solicitor's document winding up their eldest sister Mary's affairs that George was dead by 1925 but James (aka Jas) was still around. I've looked/others have looked on the 1891/1901 census using 1st name and/or surname and date of birth +/- 5 years and altering place of birth Mawgan/St Mawgan/Mawgan in Pydar/St Columb and just plain Cornwall. It's driving me bonkers, although I don't actually need the info as they aren't direct ancestors. nell

Jean I have never been sweet and sane. I might have been sweet occasionally, and possibly even sane (though that is disputed) but I have never been both at the same time, lol! nell Wondering if they became Georgina and Jemima? nel

Victor has beaten me to it. I too found James in Sept. 1858, St. Columb. 5c. The page number has two digits, but I can't make them out. Registers are now in St. Austell, Bodmin or Truro. Perhaps the register office could help. Kath. x

You know, Nell, if you keep doing that you're going to get a VERY sore throat! Christine PS - I think I can understand why you do it though! ;-)

These aren't the names you're after, but are any likely to be yours? Name Broad, William Henry Montague Official Number: 65560 Place of Birth: Plymouth, Devon 1 March 1856 ADM 188/49 Name Broad, William Official Number: 64855 Place of Birth: Houndstock, Cornwall 5 January 1851 ADM 188/46 Name Broad, John T Official Number: 53917 Place of Birth: Plymouth, Devon 20 October 1855 ADM 188/27 Name Broad, Thomas Official Number: 46868 Place of Birth: Duloe, Cornwall 15 March 1854 ADM 188/16 If so, they're on DocumentsOnline - the seamen's records. There are only 7 BROADs; the other three are 2 from Somerset and 1 from Rochester. Christine

Christine Thanks for finding them, but as far as I'm aware they are not connected to my Broads. The birth ref for James has him as James Broad, so it doesn't serve my purpose - ie if he had another Christian name I could have searched for that. Thanks everyone for your input. nell
