If a man remarries, are children from the second marriage the same relation to me as the children from the first marriage? hope that makes sense. Tricia |

AS long as it was the man and not his wife that was related to you directly then yes, usually. eg you brother's children from both first and 2nd marriage would be your nephews and nieces, your uncle's children from both marriages would be your cousins as long as he was the brother of your mum or dad and not just married to your parents' sister. The only exception is second marriages of direct ancestors eg your dad's children from a second marriage would be your half brothers and sisters and in the same way grandad's second marriage would produce half uncles and aunts, ie you only share half the blood line. |

It depends on how you were related. Example Fred and his first wife Eliza have children called Tom and Dick. Eliza dies. Fred marries 2nd wife Jane and has son Harry. If you are either Tom or Dick's child, then Harry will be a half-uncle to you as only half his blood (Fred's) is the same as Tom and Dick. nell |

As the others have said, it all depends on your relationship to the man in question. Kath. x |

sorry, had to go out only just read your replies, thank you. The man in question is my great great granddad on my dad's maternal side, hope that makes sense, his children are my great aunts and uncles, is that right? So any children from a second marriage would still be my great aunts/uncles, correct? Tricia |
