The date was 31st March 1886 and it was The Times. Did you get the cut down, and therefore hopefully printable, version I sent??? After I had told you I had sent it, I found it in my out box, still waiting to go!! So I sent it about half-past-midnight the same evening!! If you haven't got it I can send it again, as I still have it... MMM

hello again MMM thank you so much for that newspaper article I was going to ask you the date and name of the paper as I would like to get a copy for his great grandson who is dying of Cancer he is going to be thrilled when I show him this Sunday as he is away at the moment , it was him that gave me the clues about him and that spelling is correct I believe although he told me it was Guttenberg so maybe it is wrong after all thank you again

In that The Times article it said his previous name was ''Guttentag'', but that might be a mistype? That was a short nap! MMM

It is much quicker and cheaper to use than 1837online, for reasonably unusual names, up to 1920. There are the Abraham Rose death reg's. Nothing looks good - the indexes are supposed to be complete. Maybe he lived to over 80 and is hiding in 1901?
