The National Archives Documents Online service is making various navy records available, currently 22% of registers for 1853 to 1891, but there are loads more in the pipeline - see their website for details and don't forget to keep checking back to see if they have what you are looking for yet! Details on: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/royal-navy-service.asp#availability |

Thanks, Kate, that's fantastic (or it will be when it's finished!). I have 11 relatives that I know of who were in the Navy. |

So that's what RSS is short for! Thanks for this, Kate. It will be fantastic when it's all up and running. The records are brilliant - so concise but so detailed. |
