Just found that my gt grandads sister who I knew was born before their parents married, two years before, was registered under her mums maiden name. Im sending for the cert but wondered if they werent married but he was the father and he went along with her would he be allowed on the cert or would the fact they werent married not allow him to be on. I know your all laugh but I just cant see him not being the dad or not being on the cert.

He would only be named on the cert if he was present at the registration and agreed to be named as the father. Otherwise, the boxes for father's name & occupation will be blank on the cert. Richard
